Get Help - Community Resources

Below is a comprehensive list of resources that can help depending on your situation. Please do not feel that you need to visit every web page or sort through them by yourself. Our job at OAARS is to help you navigate the addictions system. These resources and links are provided for your information. Please call us for help.
Social Housing
The Social Housing Registry of Ottawa maintains a central waiting list. If you are looking for subsidized housing, this is a good place to start. There are homes for singles, families and seniors.
Crisis Lines
The Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region will answer your call for help at any time of day or night. Its crisis line specialists provide unbiased, non-judgmental support. All calls are confidential.
The Mental Health Crisis Line offers professionally trained volunteers who answer calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They will provide support in a crisis and can transfer your call to the local crisis team if needed.
Depending on your medical condition, we may refer you to the Montfort Hospital, the Ottawa Hospital or the Queensway Carleton Hospital.
